About Us
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my team I have recently joined Glendora Hydrotherapy as a partner. My name is Lesley Hepworth I have 9 years veterinary nursing experience and I am fully trained in all aspects of Canine Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation and hold the Level 3 Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy.
Mary Perks, who has over 30 years experience working with Canines of all shapes and sizes, will join me. Mary owned and ran a rescue centre for many years and now spends her spare time competing Nationally with her 3 dogs on the Agility circuit. Mary has extensive knowledge regarding canine fitness and is fondly referred to as “the dog whisperer” by those who know her. Mary is also fully trained in all aspects of Small Animal Hydrotherapy and also holds the level 3 Certificate.
We will be working along side Richard Shipperbottom R.C.H. As many of you will already know has been working at Glendora for the last 5 years and who will continue to consult on all referrals.
Our centre has recently been accepted as a member of NARCH the “National Association of Registered Canine Hydro therapists”. We are the only Centre to have gained membership to this organisation, in this area; this is directly related to our commitment to further our knowledge of the latest rehabilitation techniques within the field of Small Animal Hydrotherapy.
We hope you will take this opportunity to join us in wishing centre manager Olivia Lucking all good wishes as she takes maternity leave and we look forward to her rejoining us after the birth of “BUMP” in February.
Olivia Boyne BSc (Hons)
Centre Manager and Full Time Hydrotherapist
Olivia has grown up around animals all her life. Growing up on a farm she realised she always wanted to work with animals. Olivia undertook a BSc Degree in Animal Science after leaving college. From university she went to work as a veterinary nurse and stayed in this sector for several years. This is where her interest in alternative therapy grew. With a particular interest in hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, becoming a hydrotherapist seemed the natural career choice for Olivia.
Since starting at Glendora in 2007 Olivia has added to her qualifications with various hydrotherapy courses and some shadow training at other hydrotherapy centres. The theory gained from her degree along with the practical experience gained from working as a nurse has really proved invaluable while working in this industry.
